Since your skin is the biggest organ in your body, it makes sense it would be affected by the food you eat. I know you have heard this before, but the information never gets old! Many people think this is still a myth of some kind, and I assure you it is not. It doe not take a scientist or a magic doctor to show you how these foods can work. Just make better choices and your body will reward you. The key to glowing skin is to reduce consumption of inflammation forming foods including sugar, dairy, alcohol and trans-fat filled foods. It is also essential to boost your in-take of foods that support your digestive system and detox pathways. A little boost can't hurt! Our skin needs to detox just like most all other systems in our body. The body, our temple always amazes me and I love learning how to improve my own health and wellness. Since learning about my lyme disease in 2016 I have been spending most of my days since tapping into my roots of being a wellness junkie and wanting to share what I find, feel and love.

Have you heard of SUPER ELIXER? It is an amazing alkalizing formula containing barley grass, wheatgrass, alfalfa, spinach and spiriulina. These ingredients are all nutritional power houses. Each one will help balance the acidity in your skin and blood. The more acidic our body the more prone to disease and illness such as cancer. When balance is achieved the skin and cells will hold moisture and function properly giving you a boosted glow. What is more naturally beautiful than this? Not to mention it is Co-founded by " the body" Elle Macpherson.

Below are some super Foods to also help boost the glow if you don't currently own SUPER ELIXER. The SUPER ELIXER is now part of my everyday routine and I have made more effort at adding the below super foods to my diet. I have seen a boost in my energy and complexion.

Turmeric: Has both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits. Add 1 teaspoon of organic turmeric daily to your diet. I usually add to my smoothies.

Cucumber: Not just for puffy eyes! Mostly made of water, and delicious with a dash of sea salt cucumbers are great for detox and opening up path ways in the body. They contain vitamin C and caffeic acid, both help soothe skin and reduce swelling.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Make this a staple please. Helps support digestive system along with anti-bacterial and fungal properties. It can help reduce age spots if used as a toner and of course dilute with water. Also makes a yummy dressing for your veggies!

Tomatoes: These to me are magical. High in antioxidants and lycopene which helps fight free radicals and sun damage. The lycopene is absorbed best if the tomatoes are cooked. I love to roast and add sea salt - yum!

Milled flaxseeds + Flaxseed oil: Contains omega 3 to help boost your cell walls and also reduced inflammation. The flaxseed oils especially help balance out blood sugar levels. I have a major sweet tooth so love how flax seed helps reduce those cravings. These ingredients are also high in fiber and will help things stay moving.

Wild Salmon or oily fish: Loaded with omegas and healthy fats. Oily fish such as salmon help reduce inflammation, decrease clogged pores, and help reduce those fine lines and wrinkles. Just by eating these amazing foods you can save on crappy products.

Garlic: Not for everyone but it has been known as the cure-all remedy for almost everything. It helps to detox the liver and helps open other pathways. It is high in allicin which has anti-fungal and anti-aging properties.

Avocado: I like to eat a whole one when I can. Green is good!! Avocados are high in fatty acids. An amazing food for your hair, skin and nails. The fat content helps curb sugar cravings and makes for a lovely ( little bit messy) face mask. I will spend more money on foods than products that promise the world!

Papaya:  A tropical dream! It has amazing properties for the skin. Papaya is loaded with enzymes and vitamin C which only enhances your glow inside and out. You can make a nice mask out of this too!!!!

OK lets get glowing!!!
