HAPPINESS + GRATITUDE

WE ALL HAVE A DESIRE AND NEED TO BE HAPPY. IF WE ALL WANT HAPPINESS, THEN WHY DO MOST OF US SEEM SO MISERABLE? YOU KNOW THE SAYING "MISERY LOVES COMPANY". LETS CHANGE THIS DARK ATTITUDE. 

WHEN YOU TAKE A STEP BACK AND LOOK AT THIS COUNTRY YOU CERTAINLY GET THE SENSE THAT MOST PEOPLE HERE IN THE U.S. ARE ANXIOUS, DEPRESSED OR HIGHLY STRESSED OUT. THE FASTEST GROWING DISEASE IN THE U.S. IS DEPRESSION. IT PEAKS THIS TIME OF YEAR TOO! THE STRESS OF GIFTS, MONEY, AND PLEASING TO MANY PEOPLE IN OUR LIVES. THOUGH WE FEEL WE ARE DOING SOMETHING GOOD BY BUYING SO MANY GIFTS IT OFTEN TIMES LEAVES US IN AN UN-HAPPY STATE. AMERICA HAS THE HIGHEST RATE OF DEPRESSION IN THE WORLD. SUCH SAD NEWS! HAPPY IS THE BEST GIFT TO GIVE YOURSELF AND OTHERS!

I WANT TO KNOW WHY THOUGH? WE ARE A WEALTHY COUNTRY OR WERE...AND WE HAVE SO MANY MATERIAL THINGS TO ADD COMFORT TO MOST. BUT THAT IS JUST IT...MATERIAL THINGS SHOULD NOT BE THE SOLUTION. HAPPINESS SEEMS TO BE OUR OVER ALL DRIVE FOR SUCCESS AND YET WE CAN NOT MAINTAIN IT. I DON'T THINK WE CAN TRULY BE HAPPY AS WE HAVE BEEN HANDED A BILL OF GOODS BASED ON MATERIAL THINGS, AND THOSE THINGS ARE NOT REAL PURE JOY.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO MANIFEST HAPPINESS AND JOY AND WELL-BEING THROUGH MOST MATERIAL THINGS, BUT IT IS GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION  THAT HAVE BEEN FOUND TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF ONES LIFE. MANY STUDIES HAVE BEEN MADE, BUT THE ONLY WAY TO UNDERSTAND AND BELIEVE IS TO TRY IT YOURSELF. I BET IF YOU SPEND A FEW EXTRA MINUTES A DAY TO JOURNAL ALL YOUR EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS IT MAY INCREASE YOUR OVER ALL HAPPY. YOU BECOME HAPPIER BUT YOU ALSO ADD HAPPINESS TO THOSE AROUND YOU. TO JOURNAL CREATES CONNECTIONS TO EMOTIONS. A FEW WORDS IS ALL YOU NEED. A PAPER AND PEN TOO! IT IS A MENTAL PRACTICE BUT A GIFT TO YOURSELF. IF YOU SENSE YOU MAY BE  UN HAPPIER THAN NORMAL TRY THESE JOURNAL TIPS. MAKE THE EFFORT TO JOURNAL IN THE MORNING AND AT NIGHT. THE MORE YOU REFLECT THE MORE YOU CAN CONNECT. 7 SIMPLE QUESTIONS TO YOURSELF MAY MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. LETS SPREAD THE HAPPY AS WE HEAD INTO 2016.

ASK THESE QUESTIONS MORNING + NIGHT :

1. WHAT AM I GRATEFUL FOR?

2.WHAT CAN I DO TO HAVE A BETTER DAY?

3.WHAT KIND OF PERSON DO I WANT TO BE?

4.WHAT ARE AT LEAST 2-3 GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPENED TODAY?

5.WHAT COULD I HAVE DONE BETTER?

6.WHAT ARE SOME GOALS FOR TOMORROW?

7. AND AGAIN, WHAT AM I GRATEFUL FOR?
